Audiologists carry out a range of hearing tests on children of all ages. They fit hearing aids to children if a significant hearing loss is discovered and provide a continuous follow up service through to leaving school.
Our audiology assistant carries out hearing screening tests on reception-age children in Barnsley schools, assists with hearing assessments in clinic and provides clinical support for our doctors.
Your child will be referred to this consultant if he/she is thought to have a temporary hearing loss for example the middle ear (glue ear). The ENT consultant will advise on the best treatment.
